Description
An iconic Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion located on the right bank of Bordeaux , Château Valandraud marks the creation of a very great Saint-Émilion with its reference cuvée, Virginie de Valandraud .
On tasting, the 2018 Virginie de Valandraud offers a splendid expression of fruit, with notes of black fruit, blackcurrant, and plum, along with rich chocolate and smoky hints reminiscent of dried tobacco leaf, evolving into notes of undergrowth with a hint of truffle. Rich and full-bodied, the palate unfolds with a deliciously round and fruity texture, structured by ripe, well-integrated tannins. Full of freshness, the finish lingers beautifully, maintaining a lovely aromatic expression. A truly great Saint-Émilion that will age beautifully between now and 2030-2035.
